  4. Seen 12 of your recommendations and totally loved them all. Fight Club, with it’s dark imagery, violent sociology and negative (yet fighting) pessimism, may be my all-time favourite.

    Hidden-in-little-corner suggestions:

    The Boat That Rocked (funniest, and best, music themed movie ever made)
    Who Kissed Jessica Stein (my favourite love story)
    Notebook (but then every girl has probably seen that)
    Up In The Air (subtle yet powerful statement about the state of relationships in a devolving world)
    Eastern Promises (quality thriller with a classy edge – stars Naomi from King Kong, another great, great movie)

    And that you have no documentaries there deserves a scolding:) Start with these (several available at a local dvd store):
