paradise .

been spending my life rather recklessly over the past few days. due to this, i have no interesting or controversial thoughts of my own to share, so i’ll just tell you about some of the films i’ve seen recently.

the surrogates, with a hairy bruce willis polished an interesting idea within my mind. i wish, so much, that this film was released last year, because it would have been the perfect match to brave new world; failure would have been close to impossible.

although the idea of a safe life lived by a beautiful version of oneself is tempting, i never found myself going along with it, even for a second.

aspirations .

today i saw the film he’s just not that into you. i must say, it’s probably one of those films that the whole female population adores while the male population confusedly ponders their reactions towards it. give or take a couple, of course; i can’t stereotype the whole world.

personally, as a cynic slash closet romantic (which means i love watching other people’s happily ever afters but don’t believe they will happen to me), i enjoyed the film very much. i didn’t love it, but i do believe that it exposes many of our flaws as women, as well as the true character of men. maybe if the film didn’t end so happily the message that “he’s just not that into you” would have gotten through better, but then it wouldn’t have been hollywood, and people wouldn’t have emerged from the film content and raving at how wonderful it was.

twilight .

msn spaces revamped, and the current photo uploader makes you do things one by one. needless to say, i can’t be fucked. i’m thinking of creating a gallery for all my photos. maybe when i get bored of my holidays, which hasn’t happened yet. no need to worry though, there’s still two and a half months to go.

the rest of this post will be dedicated entirely to bitching about twilight. fangirls beware. actually, i think it might be good for the fangirls. they may come to a realisation, an epiphany, an understanding, a conclusion. the conclusion that twilight is a piece of smoking shit (things smell worse when they’re burning).

simplicity .

watched wall-e today. it was the most fantastic movie ever, really. even though the underlying messages were extremely obvious (or maybe they were purposefully that way), the effect the movie had on me (and i would think others) was extremely profound. the way the film captured my attention was amazing, especially due to the minimal dialogue. it was adorable, funny and deep at the same time; definitely going in one of my all time favourite movies. EVERYONE, and i mean everyone, needs to watch that movie…

neverland .

i watched finding neverland today and cried my fucking eyes out. i don’t think there was anything extremely sad about the movie, but the whole idea of it, the characters, the situation and the movie in general just depressed me for some reason. i still haven’t really recovered. awesome movie though. but then, i usually like sad and profound movies better than the stupid happy ones. good romantic comedies are an exception…

as usual, there are not any photos of me. bek got some, i think, but i don’t have a facebook and am therefore unable to access them. i am also not bothered to create a facebook, and therefore will remain unable to access any photos. however, from looking on on other’s facebooks, i have found that there are quite a few photos of me floating around on the internet. but apparently you can’t delete them if they’re tagged anyway, so i can’t be missing out on too much.

superman .

soundtrack: five for fighting; superman // thoughts: it’s not easy

boring but basically productive day. wrote a story. my dad just came in and thinks i’m studying very hard. what a joke.

here to bitch about hancock. man that movie was good. except for the ending. it left me totally unsatisfied and almost angry. actually i was pretty angry for a while. it was just one of those horrifically stupid endings that killed all profundity. like click, if you’ve seen it. it was sooooo sad when the guy was dying in the rain. if the movie had ended there, people would have walked away, shocked and appauled, but affected. but because adam sandler woke up and realised it was all a dream, the movie lost its affect, and i consequently no longer remember the name of his character.
